The Town of Valleyview is currently inviting applications from community members to fill two (2) vacancies on the Library Board.

If you are passionate about supporting literacy, learning, and lifelong discovery, this is an excellent opportunity to help shape library programs and services and play a vital role in building Valleyview’s future.

Important Note on Appointments:

  • Vacancies: There are currently two (2) open positions.

  • Term: Members will be appointed for up to a three-year term.

  • Commitment: Meetings are held once a month.

  • Selection: All appointments will be made by Town Council at the regular meeting on October 13, 2026.

Evaluation Criteria:

Applications will be provided to Council for consideration under the Alberta Libraries Act. All applications will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Governance and board experience

  • Financial, policy, and strategic skills

  • Education and community service experience

  • Ability to contribute to a diverse and effective board

  • Availability and commitment to serve a full term
