The Town of Valleyview would like to advise residents of a critical watermain replacement project scheduled to begin on August 13, 2026. The project will replace aging watermain infrastructure along 50 Street between 51 Avenue and 52 Avenue, improving the reliability, resilience, and long-term serviceability of the Town’s water distribution system. Construction is expected to be substantially completed by August 31, 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

Project Area

A project map has been developed identifying two categories of properties:

  • 🔴 Directly Affected Properties: Properties adjacent to the planned work may experience temporary disruptions related to construction activities or water service.

  • 🟡 Provisional Work Properties: Properties that may be included in the project should construction progress allow for additional replacement work.

  • 🔵 Work Area: The planned construction area where water main replacement activities will take place.

  • 🟠 Provisional Work Area: An additional construction area that may be completed if project timelines and site conditions.

What to Expect

  • Traffic control measures will be in place throughout the construction area.

  • Temporary lane restrictions and detours may be required.

  • Construction equipment and crews will be working within the project limits.

  • Temporary water service interruptions may be required.

  • Residents will be notified in advance whenever possible.

Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are asked to obey all construction signage, follow directors from traffic control personnel and flaggers, and use caution when travelling through the work zone.
