The Public Works Department is introducing non-collection stickers for residential garbage collection.

If garbage is not collected, a 4”x8” non-collection tag may be placed directly on a bag or the bin. These stickers will explain why garbage was not collected and are intended to provide immediate, on-site communication to residents.

This initiative helps to:

  • Clearly communicate collection issues at the time they occur
  • Support compliance with the Waste Management Bylaw, and
  • Educate residents on proper waste management practices

Each sticker also includes the Town’s web address as well as the phone number to contact Public Works with questions or for more information.

Did you know?

All household garbage must be bagged and placed inside your cart with the lid fully closed. Garbage bags or loose material left beside the cart will not be collected. Properly containing waste prevents scavenging from wildlife and pets, protects storm drainage systems, and supports safe and efficient collection.

Carts must be placed on the street at the curb, or at the street edge where no curb exists, with at least 1 metre (3 feet) of clearance from vehicles, structures, and other obstructions. Carts placed on lawns or driveways will not be collected. After collection, carts must be returned to your property within 1 metre of your dwelling by 11:59 p.m. on collection day.

For any questions not answered in the Waste Management Bylaw, please call the Public Works Department, (780) 524-5154.
