The Town of Valleyview Utilities Department is issuing a Boil Water Advisory to residents and businesses affected by the 49th Street water main break, in the following areas:

  • 50th Street North to 52nd Avenue
  • 5002 52nd Avenue to 50th Street, both sides
  • 49th Street North to 52nd Avenue, both sides
  • 52nd Avenue from 49th Street to 50th Street

The Boil Water Advisory is necessary due to an unexpected interruption in the water distribution line caused by a water main break which occurred in the affected area on Monday, December 12.

When water service is restored to the above areas residents may experience lower than normal pressure for a temporary period. You may also observe discolored water.

It is recommended that when water service is restored, customers flush their lines using the cold water faucet. Flush from bathtub and shower cold water faucets first for five minutes or until water temperature runs colder and water is clear. This will remove super-chlorinated water and sediment from lines.

Residents are advised to bring water that they might ingest to a rolling boil for one (1) minute. For example, boil water used for:

  • Drinking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Making juice from concentrate and powders
  • Cooking
  • Washing fruits and vegetables
  • Making tea, coffee, and other hot drinks
  • Making infant formula and cereals

The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notification.
