NOTICE TO TOWN RESIDENTS
HYDRANT FLUSHING IN PROGRESS
Flushing of municipal fire hydrants is currently in progress and will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays until the end of October. Hydrant flushing is performed annually to remove sediment that accumulates in watermains, and to improve water quality and clarity.
During this process, operators flush water through the hydrant until the water runs clear. Large volumes of water may be observed flowing along roadways and into storm drains. Customers may also notice slight discoloration or sediment in their water when operators are flushing in their area. If this happens, run cold water through your inside faucets for a few minutes until water runs clear.
If you have any questions or concerns please call the Utilities Department, (780) 524-5156.
Thank you for your understanding.
