Mayor Vern Lymburner

I have served on Council for 12 years, 6 as a Councillor and 6 as Mayor.  I have lived in Valleyview for approximately 30 years and have a fiancé Diana.  I have two adult sons, Kyle, and Darryle whom is married to Nicole.  30 years ago I came here on vacation from the East Coast….here for a good time, not a long time.  Like so many others, the good time turned into a love and appreciation for the wonderful community of Valleyview.  I have raised a family, and in the process got involved with a number of organizations they were active in.  I have been very fortunate to have worked with many great individuals in the 12 years I have been on Council and it is especially great to see so many work together for the betterment of our Community.  I take pride in how each individual Councillor brings their expertise, knowledge and opinions to the table and at the end of the day we make decisions that will enhance our Town, not only for the present but also for future generations.  We, as Council, have also had the luxury of working with a very experienced and competent Town staff, many of whom are born and raised in Valleyview, and have the best interests of our Community at heart.  Council meetings are the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month and we welcome everybody to attend.

Councillor Delwin Slemp

I have lived in Valleyview for 16 years, and this is my second term on Town Council.  I decided to run for Council because I’ve been involved in many recreational organizations and I have a political interest to leave a better community for my children and grandchildren.  I enjoy playing and coaching hockey and baseball, and camping with my family.  I am very community minded and stay involved in the community.  My wife Shannon and I have 3 daughters, Courtney, Chantelle, Cassidy and a son Calvin, along with 5 grandchildren, who all live in the surrounding Community. I have worked as a Maintenance Foreman for CNRL for the past 16 years and enjoy working out of Valleyview.  I believe in fiscal sustainability.

Councillor Jim Joelson

I have lived in Valleyview since 1977, and was last on Council in the late seventies and early eighties for a couple of terms.  I was elected again in 2010, and I really enjoy the time I spend on Town Council – from the easy things to the hard ones, it’s always been a great experience.

I ran for Council to help the Town be fiscally responsible.  My wife, Fjola and I owned the Macleods Store in Valleyview for 16 years and we retired from that in 2005.  I currently work as a guard at the RCMP detachment, and I also enjoy participating in the Red Willow Players Theatre Group, which I have been a member of for several years.  I have one son, Jason, and 2 grandchildren.

Councillor Tanya Boman

I have been a resident of Valleyview for 25+ years, am married to Darren; son of Arthur & the late Anita Boman.  I am a mother of two, Layne & Taryn.

I ran for Council in a by-election in April 2015.  I am currently an active volunteer on the following Community Boards; President for Valleyview Slo Pitch League; Treasurer for Valleyview Enhancement Society, and a member of the Valleyview Royal Purple Elks.

I have always wanted to run for Council and I felt I could learn a lot more about the town I reside in.  Sitting on many boards & committees over the last 25 years has guided me to become more involved in our community and I want to be the voice for our taxpayers and be an example for our future taxpayers who may want to run for Council someday.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and remember our Council doors are open, and we welcome your comments, views & ideas.  Thank you again.

Councillor Rod Pepper

I have been a resident of the Valleyview area since 1959.  I married my wife Annette in 1972, we raised two great kids, daughter, Corry who has since given us two granddaughters Charlie & Jordis.  Our son Dennis has given us two grandsons Hudson and Paxton.

I started working at the South Sturgeon gas plant in 1972 and worked there until 1993 when I had a medical incident that forced me into long term disability.  Shortly thereafter, I was approached to run for Town Council.  I have been on Council since then and enjoyed every minute of it.  Valleyview has been my home for most of my life.  The support we have had in Valleyview means so much to us.  Valleyview will always be our home.  As long as I am on Council my goal is to keep Valleyview growing and prospering.
