Recently, you may have noticed that your drinking water has a slight taste or unpleasant smell to it. This taste and odour are due to the hot weather that we have been experiencing. The Town of Valleyview is investigating options to manage this seasonal concern.
It is important to remember that your water is safe to drink. These recent taste and odour concerns are only aesthetic in nature. Operators regularly test the water both in the water treatment plant and within the Town, and our system continues to comply with Alberta drinking water quality requirements and the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.
If you are using a device to filter your tap water, remember to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for replacing and conditioning the filter cartridges.
