Effective 48 hours from the date and time of this posting, a WATER BAN comes into effect in the Town of Valleyview and will begin Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

In response to recent hot weather and subsequent low water levels in the Little Smoky River, on July 19, 2021, Valleyview Town Council passed a Water Conservation Policy which allows for the implementation of a water restriction or a water ban.

During a water restriction, customers are asked to reduce their non-essential water use. During a water ban, all customers are asked to discontinue all non-essential water use, and all outdoor use is prohibited.

Please be advised that a Water Ban will come into effect Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., all customers – residential, industrial, and commercial – are asked to discontinue all non-essential water use and are advised that all outdoor water use is prohibited.

Discontinuing of all non-essential water use by all customers includes:

  • No watering lawns, gardens, or trees
  • No washing vehicles, driveways, sidewalks, house exteriors
  • No filling pools, fountains, ponds
  • No use of water not used for human consumption

In conformity, the Town will discontinue non-essential water use, including:

  • No firefighting training, street sweeping, hydrant flushing, park watering, fleet vehicle washing, construction projects.
  • Spray park shall be closed

For users of the Truck and Barrell Fills at the Water Treatment Plant:

  • The Truck Fill at the Water Treatment Plant will be closed on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. and will remain closed until the water ban is lifted.
  • The Barrel Fill will remain open for potable water users between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Users of the barrel fill are limited to 1 cubic meter of potable water every two days.

The Town will manage water amounts to ensure sufficient water storage for firefighting.

During a water ban, all customers are encouraged to make others aware of the ban and/or report violations to the Town.
