The Town of Valleyview Utilities & Asset Management, together with Public Works crews, has completed the planned hydrant repair in identified area.
We are pleased to confirm that the expanded scope of water services did not need to be shut off during this work. All customers in the area maintained continuous service.
As part of the repair process, the hydrant will now be flushed. During flushing, residents may notice temporary discolouration or cloudy water as minerals and sediments are stirred up in the lines. This is a normal occurrence, especially as much of Valleyview’s water infrastructure was installed between the 1950s and 1970s and is nearing the end of its service life.
If you experience discoloured water, please run your cold water taps until the water clears. Avoid using hot water or doing laundry until clarity is restored.
This hydrant repair and flushing is part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to maintain and extend the reliability of our water distribution system.
