Please note that Town of Valleyview Council passed Bylaw #2020-07 (Land Use Bylaw Amendment) at the Regular Town Council Meeting held August 17, 2020. The amendments are as follows:
BYLAW #2016-08
- Prior Land Use Bylaw Regulation 9.7.10:
Where fencing is required, use transparent and decorative fencing that maintains sight lines between the sidewalk and main building entrance. Steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, wood or
vinyl are possible materials.
Amended Land Use Bylaw Regulation 9.7.10:
Where fencing is required, use transparent and decorative fencing that maintains sight lines between the sidewalk and main building entrance. Steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, vinyl
coated chain link, wood or vinyl are all possible materials. Chain link fencing must have powder coated posts and be vinyl coated mesh in black, white, brown and green
colours only; in addition, privacy slats of the same colour as the fencing are required for chain link fencing in downtown commercial district. Galvanized chain
link fencing is prohibited except in industrial and service commercial districts.

Chain-link, barbed wire or razor wire fences are not permitted in residential districts nor in the downtown commercial district, and are permitted elsewhere only at the discretion of the
Development Officer, except in industrial and service commercial districts.
